THE ROOSEVELT
THE ROOSEVELT
The Roosevelt was originally opened in 1893 by a German immigrant under the name of the Hotel Grunewald. On October 31, 1923, the hotel was reopened and renamed The Roosevelt after President Theodore Roosevelt. The Roosevelt’s new branding and design strategy pays homage to the hotel’s history during the 1920’s while giving it an updated modern feel. The twenties were truly a revolutionary time, and The Roosevelt was a revolutionary hotel. As one of the many legends who visited The Roosevelt, William Faulkner, said, “The past isn’t dead; it’s not even the past.”
